osteoporosis
Osteoporosis is a condition in
which bones become fragile and more likely to break. Osteoporosis is
a disorder of the skeleton in which the bones weaken and become porous,
leading to an increase in the risk of breaking bones (bone fracture). Normal
bone is composed of protein, collagen, and calcium. Bones that are affected
by osteoporosis can fracture with only a minor fall or injury that
normally would not cause a bone fracture. The spine, hips, and wrists are
common areas of osteoporosis-related bone fractures, although
osteoporosis-related fractures can also occur in almost any skeletal
bone area.
The symptoms of osteoporosis
are not evident until a bone fractures unless you have a bone density test.
While women are four times more likely than men to develop osteoporosis,
men also suffer from osteoporosis
The treatment for osteoporosis involves diet change (avoiding your
allergic foods) and taking supplements.
